Effective date: September 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TrueStrait Technologies Inc. ("TrueStrait," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use the StrideForge mobile application, website, route-generation features, navigation features, and related services (collectively, "StrideForge" or the "Service").
TrueStrait Technologies Inc. operates StrideForge and is responsible for the personal information handled through the StrideForge app and services. StrideForge is operated from British Columbia, Canada. This Policy should be read together with the StrideForge Terms of Service and Route Safety information.
StrideForge is intended only for individuals who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are under the legal age of majority where you live, you may use StrideForge only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
If we learn that we collected personal information from someone under 16, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes that a person under 16 has provided information to us may contact us using the details at the end of this Policy.
We do not require your date of birth. StrideForge may ask you to confirm that you meet the minimum-age requirement.
The information we collect depends on whether you use StrideForge as a guest, create an account, save a route, use navigation, or voluntarily submit an issue report.
Account information.
If you create an account, we process your email address, account identifier, authentication credentials through our authentication provider, account role, plan or access tier, usage counters, unit preference, and records showing acceptance of applicable terms or safety acknowledgements. If you sign in with Google, Google and our authentication provider supply the information needed to create or authenticate your account, such as your email address.
Route and location information.
When you generate a route, select a point on the map, use your current location, search for an address, or enter a destination, we process the location and route details needed to provide that feature. These may include:
A generated route is not automatically saved to your account merely because it was displayed. If you choose to save it, its starting point, route geometry, route details, and navigation steps are stored with your account until you delete the route or your account.
Live navigation information.
When you use navigation, your device may provide live position, direction, speed, and accuracy information. Current StrideForge navigation uses this information in the app on your device to show route progress and instructions. It is not ordinarily sent to or stored by our backend. Browser, operating-system, and app-platform permissions control access to live location.
Guest-device information.
Guest usage limits and preferences may be stored locally on your device, including route-generation counters, unit preferences, and limited app configuration. This information remains on the device until it expires, is cleared through StrideForge where that control is available, or is cleared through your browser or device settings.
Issue reports and support information.
If you voluntarily report a problem or contact support, we may collect the report ID, date and time, category, severity, description, app version, account or guest status, device and browser information, and route context needed to investigate the problem. Route context may include precise starting coordinates, route geometry, navigation steps, and technical routing diagnostics. Issue-report notification emails include the diagnostic information described in the "Issue Reports and Route Diagnostics" section below.
StrideForge no longer accepts new screenshot uploads through the issue-report form. Reports submitted before September 7, 2026 may have included a screenshot. See Section 8 for information about these historical files.
Technical and network information.
Like most online services, StrideForge and its service providers necessarily receive network information such as IP address, browser or device identifiers, request time, and technical logs when your device connects to them. We do not currently use third-party advertising analytics in StrideForge.
We use personal information only for reasonable purposes connected with operating, protecting, and improving StrideForge, including to:
We do not sell personal information. We do not use precise location or route information for behavioural advertising, and StrideForge does not currently display third-party advertising.
StrideForge requests device location only when a location-dependent feature is used, such as selecting your current starting point or beginning navigation. You may deny or revoke permission through your browser, device, or operating-system settings. Some features will not work without the required location.
You can also choose a location manually by searching or selecting a point on the map. Regardless of how a point is selected, the coordinates required for route generation or geocoding may be transmitted to the service providers described below.
We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:
We do not authorize our service providers to use personal information for purposes unrelated to providing their services to us, except where the provider acts independently under its own terms and privacy policy.
StrideForge currently relies on the following services. Their own terms and privacy policies govern information they process independently.
Base44.
Base44 provides application hosting, authentication, database functions, private storage, and related infrastructure. Account information, saved routes, settings, and issue reports are processed through Base44. Base44 states that app data is stored in the United States by default.
Privacy information: Base44 Privacy Policy
OpenRouteService / HeiGIT.
StrideForge sends route coordinates and route parameters to OpenRouteService / HeiGIT to calculate routes. Address or place searches and reverse-geocoding requests are also processed through its geocoding service. We do not send your StrideForge email address or account ID with these routing requests.
Privacy information: HeiGIT Privacy Information
OpenStreetMap.
StrideForge displays map information and map tiles based on OpenStreetMap. Requests for tiles reveal standard network information and the map area being viewed to the applicable map infrastructure.
Privacy information: OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy
Overpass API services.
StrideForge may send a geographic search area, including coordinates near the selected starting point, to community-operated Overpass API servers to obtain OpenStreetMap features used for route-quality checks. These servers receive the query and standard network information under their own practices.
Google.
If you choose Google Sign-In, Google processes the authentication request under Google's policies and provides the authentication information needed by StrideForge. Google does not receive your route information from StrideForge merely because you use Google Sign-In.
Privacy information: Google Privacy Policy
StrideForge is operated from Canada, but our service providers may process and store personal information in other countries, including the United States and countries where mapping infrastructure operates. As a result, information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or other authorities where legally permitted.
We use service providers and safeguards that we consider appropriate for the nature of the information and the services being provided. However, we cannot guarantee that another country's privacy laws will provide protections identical to those available in Canada.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to provide the Service, resolve disputes, protect the Service, and meet legal requirements. Retention depends on the type of information:
Issue Reports and Route Diagnostics
When you submit an issue report, StrideForge collects diagnostic information needed to investigate and repair the reported problem. This may include the reported route's coordinates and geometry, requested and generated distance, navigation steps, route-generation results, candidate summaries, route-refinement decisions, app version, and basic device and browser information. This information is used only for customer support, safety, diagnostics, and route-quality improvements.
Issue reports, associated route diagnostics, and support-email copies are retained for up to 30 days and are then deleted. Account-linked application records may be deleted sooner when the associated account is deleted. Support-email copies are managed separately and may remain until the end of the 30-day support-retention period.
StrideForge does not include passwords, authentication tokens, payment information, or unrelated account information in diagnostic reports.
Historical screenshots.
Before September 7, 2026, users could optionally attach screenshots to issue reports. New screenshot uploads are disabled. Deleting an account removes the associated issue-report database record, but Base44 currently does not provide StrideForge with a programmatic method to delete the underlying historical private file. Those legacy files may therefore remain in private platform storage after the linked report record is removed. Contact us with the applicable report ID if you have concerns about a historical screenshot, and we will make reasonable efforts using the controls available to us.
Service-provider logs and backups may remain for limited periods under provider retention, security, backup, and legal practices. Deletion may not remove information that has been lawfully de-identified or aggregated so it can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we control, or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. You may also raise a concern about our handling of your information.
Available controls include:
Account deletion is permanent. It deletes the user account and associated saved routes, issue-report records, and historical route-diagnostic records under our control, subject to the legacy-file and provider limitations described above.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including platform-managed authentication, access controls restricting users to their own private records, server-side secret storage, private support records, and reduced issue-report email content.
No online service, device, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your sign-in credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
StrideForge uses browser local storage for functions such as guest usage limits, unit preferences, authentication state, and app configuration. Base44 or authentication providers may use platform-managed cookies or similar technologies required to provide authentication and service functionality.
StrideForge does not currently use Google Analytics or another third-party behavioural analytics service, and it does not currently use advertising cookies. If we introduce material analytics, advertising, or tracking practices, we will update this Policy and request consent where required.
Where a law requires us to identify a legal basis, we process personal information as necessary to provide the Service or perform our agreement with you; with your consent; for legitimate interests such as security, support, troubleshooting, and service improvement where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and to comply with legal obligations.
You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the applicable basis, but withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed and may prevent certain features from operating.
We may update this Policy as StrideForge changes or as required for legal, security, or operational reasons. The current version will display a revised effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or another appropriate method before the change takes effect where required.
TrueStrait is responsible for personal information under its control. Questions, requests, or complaints may be directed to:
